The ENP chair group's research examines the increasing globalisation of environmental issues, debates, practices, and governance and reflects this diversity through its international orientation. The ResNexus project was started in January 2016, in collaboration with the University of Sao Paulo and the University of Sussex. It looks at the urban nexus of water, energy, food and the environment, and the synergies and tradeoffs that can be uncovered to strengthen urban resilience, especially for the urban poor. The project employs Social Practice theory to investigate the social and ecological tradeoffs that arise within the urban nexus and identifies social practices that could benefit from governance interventions.
